A downloadable asset pack

This is currently a concept game where you are a pigeon named Chusho. Your world has exploded. Your only defense is a pillow. You float aimlessly and only your hopes matter when everything else has turned to rubble. What will you do?

The total runtime of all 8 songs is 10 minutes and 57 seconds.

Description of entry (e.g. genre, runtime, software you used, inspirations, your process, etc.)

  • The genre I chose is sci-fi. I tried incorporating various instruments that were from sci-fi films like interstellar, some techy pump-up music like Real Steel. I mainly used Bandlab for all the songs except one which is Hoot of all Evil which was composed on Famitracker. I gained inspiration from various songs. Here is the description of each of the songs and their inspiration.

[First song: A world well lived]
There is just a void of space. The sounds of the death star type a sound maybe. You can see that this place was developed. The sounds can be akin to Steven Universe instruments moon base. Some chorus could add to how the world looks to be thriving. This scene lasts for a good thirty seconds. Before everything hits a crescendo as it all explodes. This was the beginning of the end that came. Similar to Interstellar, I’ll try a crescendo like that.
    • Death star Ambience
    • Steven universe bing bong lead
    • Choral chorus
    • Interstellar draggy wah
Then a small jingle in bells plays at the end, and we see a little pillow floating. Then the game title screen follows as the song loops back. Chusho’s cat pillow is a taco cat :>

[Second song: Floating Tacos] {Raining Tacos by Parry Grip} This next song would be for the player’s first steps. Trying to get movement right. Being a little pigeon trapped in a pillow is not the best of situations. All you can do is squirm and hope that you hit something to even move somewhere. The wings you have are useless here. The music tries to encapsulate the situation that you are trying to get a hold of this new reality. Some pigeon sounds here and there. Maybe I can record myself punching the pillow XD Can I use the TADC theme of the Teapots? That cute choral there. Then the ending sound is the hoot of another pigeon. This begins your journey.

[Third song: Chusho Solos] {Enemy Approaching from UNDERTALE} In this third song, you are now ready to explore what is left of this space world. Rubble is hurled here and there and with you protected in your pillow, you can float here and there. Now that Chusho is able to float freely in the void of space among the floating rubble of the old world, he navigates the area to try to find the source of the pigeon hoot he hears. He frantically tries to find the source even when it seems that the broken world is against it.

[Fourth song: Glade] {CORE form UNDERTALE} In this environment, Chusho would be navigating a seemingly empty spaceship where rubble has compromised its functions, leaving it to rot in the empty void, with oil and fuel leaking everywhere. Chusho can't get his feathers icked up! The hooting sounds of a pigeon can be heard much more clearly in it. Is this where he can find his one and only in this void?

[Fifth song: I can’t breathe] {Nothing but the Truth} There seems to be a pigeon trapped in a cage on the brink of being sucked into the vacuum of space. Chusho tries his best to free her with all the equipment threatening to stab or electrocute them into a pile of blood and feathers.

[Sixth song: Hoot of all evil] {Malevolent Shrine} The ship goes into critical failure and explodes. The area is destroyed and rubble is sprayed everywhere. Everything starts flying through, destroying everything in its path. Chusho is caught in the swirl and his pillow is shredded.

[Seventh song: Pigeon not food] {Admiring you} Chusho will not let this stop him from being with his fiance.

[Eighth song: Taco cat’s got my tongue] {Faint Glow from DELTARUNE} This is the game over theme for when Chusho turns into a pile of feathers from something travelling at 99.9% the speed of light.

[Ninth song: Our Nest] {Amphibia outro} Whoever Chusho saw or was chasing is gone, but a big person in white with a smooth round glass head caught him. There was nothing left but him and this thing [astronaut]. There is hope of finding that other pigeon again.

In order to fit the description of Palindrome, I tried using functions to reverse recorded audio and using notes that paralleled forwards and backwards as according to the second difficulty. Furthermore, for some instruments, I used draggy instruments with high sustain so that they would sound the same backwards. I also sneaked in some reversed recordings of some previous leitmotifs into other songs so that they would be a secret to find when the audio is reversed. To fit into the sci-fi theme of a pigeon lost in space, I used hooting sounds and pillow ruffling to be incorporated into some songs. Furthermore, I went ahead with replaying some nostalgic leitmotifs and some spacey beats to add to the void environment of space.

Yes, I do give permission for the use of this music.
The CHUSHO.zip file is the compilation of the OST for all 8 songs. I also upload each song individually just in case.
